Today I will explain the difference between uniform and variable velocity in detail.
Uniform Velocity
- When a body covers equal displacements in equal intervals of time, the velocity attained by the body is known as uniform velocity.
- Uniform Velocity is uni-directional ,i.e, changing the direction changes velocity.
Variable Velocity
- When a body covers unequal displacements in same or different intervals of time, the velocity attained by the body is known as variable velocity.
- In variable velocity movement of body can be multi-directional(curved).
SI Unit of Velocity is m/s.
From the concept of variable velocity, acceleration is defined as
Acceleration:
The rate of change of velocity with respect to time is known as acceleration. It is given by formula:
Acceleration = a = Change in Velocity/Change in Time = ΔV/Δt
SI Unit Of Acceleration Is metre per second square(m )
