Conservative force

If a body is moving from one point to another along different paths under the action of a force and work done remains the same along all paths then force is called conservative force for example Gravitational force, or electric force.

Non-conservative force

If a body is moving from one point to another along different paths under the action of a force and work done does not remain the same along all paths then force is called non-conservative force for example frictional force, air resistance.
